It can be helpful to display additional M-Files properties directly on Kanban cards. Kanbanoo allows up to four M-Files properties to be added to cards - they will appear as shown below:
A Kanban card with the Project property added.
Here is how to do it:
Adding the property
Adding properties to Kanban cards requires the Manage Common Views role as it will apply to all users of the board.
To add properties to Kanban cards:
Right-click on the board's header to bring up the board context menu.
Select Configure Board....
The Manage Board dialog shows the Card tab with a multi-select list.
Use the Search field to narrow down the list of properties.
Double-click on any property in the left pane (or select and press the Add button) to add it to Kanban cards.
Double-click on a property in the right pane (or select and press the Remove button) to remove it from Kanban cards.
To change the appearance order, select a property in the right pane and click the up and down arrow buttons to rearrange.
Press Save to confirm your choice and close the dialog.
The property configuration will be saved persistently in the M-Files Named Value Storage.
Note that the configuration is specific to the view where the Kanban board is hosted and specific to the board (workflow).
Since version 1.18 multiline text properties are only shown when a card is expanded and properties are not shown if their value is not set.
Prior to version 1.14.6 the additional properties were only shown when the cards were expanded. Changing the appearance order was introduced in version 2.3.0.
The additional properties will be shown in the order as they are listed in the right side Display on Cards of the multi-select list.
The Card tab of the Manage Board dialog allows you to add up to 4 properties to all Kanban cards.
Tips
The most useful properties to add are those that let users decide which cards are relevant to them.
